Before we start, let me clarify some of the questions you might have up to this point.

Should you buy a List from Lead companies?

My short answer is No. I know someone can pay $35 to receive 20,000 names, but the question here is, do those names fall into your targeted business or are they responsive? The problem is since those lead never subscribes to your service at the first place, you will probably be considered a spammer. I strongly encourage you don’t do this. You might be blacklisted if your subscribers report you of spamming. That will introduce more trouble in the future.

Although there are good lead companies out there who set up multiple, free giveaway websites, and classified websites that people need to subscribe their service before they can post their ads on their sites. If you purchase these leads for people interest some product you happen to sell, you might get fewer spam complaints in this way. However, this option still, not a great lead because these companies sell the leads to multiple vendors so those who subscribed to the lists may be overwhelmed by the contacts from so many email marketers. To be safe, you still want to make sure your ‘unsubscribe’ link is very visible to avoid being a blacklisted sender. Fortunately, those who stay with you are those you should focus on the most.

Overall, I won’t buy the List from Lead companies or on eBay. However, I don’t take free traffic as a valid source for a beginner. A beginner’s website is unlikely to have an active SEO present, and SEO takes months and years to build. Therefore, forget about the Google organic search. I am an advocator for the paid traffic. Overall, the Solo ads are cheaper than the Facebook ads. The Facebook ads are also cheaper than the Google AdWords. Therefore, it is better to start with the Solo ads if you are just a beginner. The Quality of your list is important

The money is in the subscriber lists. You need to know your list very well because that is the primary asset of your business. In the year 2000 Dot Com startup mania, those who survive always have a huge customer list. A fancy website or high tech backend system without the subscription list is almost worthless.  The quality of your list is vital too. It is better to have an email list of active 1,000 customers than a non-responsive 10,000 customers are because if customers are responsive, they will help you earn money on a consistent basis.

The best lead is those that you have to receive through your site. The better yet, through the paid website like Google AdWords. Those subscribers respond to your advertisement, and they are interested in your service or product. This lead is not cheap, as you will pay for the advertising server with the Google

Keep thinking of what value or result you can add to your subscriber’s life?

Always think regarding what value you can add to the subscriber’s life? What kind of benefit when they receive the email from you? What kind of problem they can solve with your help? Why should they trust you or listen to your advice instead of someone else?

Besides the focus on the technical aspect of the “opt-in” page, I recommend you also to concentrate on the sales writing, which will be mention in Day 6.  These little produce sales pages sometimes are called squeezed page, or a landing page can consider it as the next page of your “opt-in” page. The opt-in page sometimes stands alone which links to the newsletter or Google search engine. Those pages are the service, information or product you would provide to the subscribers to solve their particular problem or better their life in a certain way.  You can provide free chapter to your eBooks, free bonus or gifts, etc. You can provide the trial version of your software as well. The key is that the visitors need to sign up to get this free stuff. Well, some of the subscribers might just want to get a free book then unsubscribe it, but if your service or product is good, they will likely to stay with your list. To keep people on your list, you will need to keep selling yourself on your blog or newsletters.

Understand the 80/20 rules:

Eighty percent of your profit is from 20% of the subscribers. If you are ever facing difficult subscribers and drain your energy, eating your dream, make your life miserable after you spend countless hours of helping them, it will be okay for you to tell them to thank you and you can no longer serve them.  I can tell you from my experiences as a support consultant, the same kind of energy that you spend on those loyal followers; you will earn double, triple better. If you are not targeting to the right person in the right group, you will need to think again.

That is why your focus is to get people “opt-in” every single day and don’t worry about those “opt-out” people. Trust me, no matter how great service you offer or how amazing it is; you can still improve it by following what is taught here. You may have unsatisfied clients, but you will get loyal followers as well. You cannot help them because they don’t want to get help from you at least at this time. You can only pray for them and hope them good luck. That was how I did mentally for those who “opt-out” my lists. When I was working at the ADT as the door to door sales person few years ago, my mentor told me this mental affirmation before I knock every home owner’s door, it works very well in my attitude and the way I see myself as a door to door marketer. The affirmation is “some will, some won’t, so what, someone is waiting, next”. Just do your best and the rest of them will come alone if you are just persistent.

Create your own Imaginary / dreamed customers:

You might not have any customer at this time, but I want you to have an imaginary customer before you have the first subscriber.

You must first have an imaginary client a male and a female and how they look, (I am serious about this, not joking) and high, weight and go to and search some name that you like and find their picture. When you like them, just copy and paste to your word document and save to the desktop that you can see every day or better, printed them out and post on your wall. If you don’t want your spouse to think you are crazy, please just save it in the word and look at them twice a day with another item you want in a dream board until you have 10,000 customers okay?

Why do we create an imaginary client? Is this is some law of attracting mumbo jumbo thing? No, it is not, but trust me, I have been doing the law of attraction about my primary home since last year, and I have moved from 1100sf house to 3650sf mac mansion in just eight months. I will not say that it is just a co-incident. I use to have all different customers that contact me for how to setup the website and how to debug an error code and that drive my life crazy. I also try to please that customer, who is tough to please and drain all of my daily energy on them only and couldn’t do for others. This has destroyed your schedule and make your daily tasks unaccomplished, you often feel like you want to fire yourself from doing this anymore, but you cannot because it is your own business. Therefore, if you want to have a good customer, then you must do this imagination practice as follows

Print their picture from Google search engine until you find two customers image you like. I want to think about how you can help them to reach their goal. This should be the occupied in your mind when you are providing service to your subscribers. No other though can attract better subscribers than this technique. Remember, don’t just think how much you are going to make from this customer, but also think and imagine how can you serve them and how to achieve your critical business success. Creating a solution to subscribers’ pain and automating your Internet business should be key things you want to focus.
